This is an unusual tenor banjo. It is a Calvert Parker 17 fret 4 string banjo with a patented internal resonator. Most of the parts appear to be original to the banjo. I did add a spacer to the bridge as it was a very low bridge. The action is pretty good now. This banjo is marked on the back : Tone Built, Calvert Parker, Keene, NH with a patent date of 7-11-1922.When I got this banjo the heel was cracked and it had been glued back so it didn't fit together. I had to take it apart and then put the pieces together. I put a hardwood dowel through the center of the glued heel and put a heel cap on the end of that to hide the dowel. Now that area is very strong. The neck was stripped when I got it and it now has a french polished shellac finish. You can easily dull it with a bit of steel wool if it is too glossy for your taste. The exterior of the pot has a few small rippled areas but nothing to effect looks or playability. It appears to have always been painted black. Other than that, it plays and sounds really good.No returns on this banjo, so please ask any questions you might have prior to purchase. I have a gig bag to pack it in, but don't have the original case. I will pack it carefully for safe arrival.
