Senior Social Worker (Clinical Program Coordinator)

Major duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Serves as the clinical mental health expert for all staff of the Peer Support Outreach Center (PSOC) on various tours. Reviews calls and documentation as referred by quality management staff and provides appropriate recommendation and follow up. Provides a full range of clinical, consultative, and support services to the peer support responders, including consultation on difficult cases, to maintain staff readiness and resilience at all times. Review and develop interventions and procedures to ensure best practices for PSOC. Participates actively in staff meetings to provide clinical perspective on operations and topics impacting the call center. Provides training to staff on best practices in peer support content / job aids. Actively engages with peer support experts within VHA and the community. Works with leadership and support staff in the design, development, and implementation of clinical interventions to ensure best practice models in place for callers. Conducts program evaluation and analysis for process improvement and program efficiency and effectiveness. Assists the management at each PSOC location in on-going program evaluation activities and data-driven quality improvement projects. Serves as liaison with other VA health care programs and/or community partners in order to effectively coordinate services. Work Schedule:

(a) United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. (b) English Language Proficiency:
Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f). (c) Education:
Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which, one year must be equivalent to the GS11 grade level.(d) Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Senior Social Worker must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included and advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Grade Determination:
GS-12 Senior Social Worker:
At least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and (should be) in a specialized area of social work practice of which one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience would include:
experience that demonstrates possession of advanced practice skills and judgment; expert in a specialized area of practice; have certification or other post masters training a defined curriculum/course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty. In addition to the experience above, candidates must demonstrate all of the following KSA's.(a) Skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities used in specialty treatment programs or with special patient populations. This includes individual, group, and/or family counseling or psychotherapy and advanced level psychosocial and/or case management.(b) Ability to incorporate complex multiple causation in differential diagnosis and treatment within approved clinical privileges or scope of practice.(c) Knowledge in developing and implementing methods for measuring effectiveness of social work practice and services in the specialty area, utilizing outcome evaluations to improve treatment services and to design system changes.(d) Ability to provide specialized consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients in the service delivery area, as well as role modeling effective social work practice skills.(e) Ability to expand clinical knowledge in the social work profession, and to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines pertaining to the service delivery area References:

The work is performed in an office setting. The position requires some standing, bending and carrying items such as training materials. The incumbent will be supplied with and required to wear an officially approved uniform during all VCL special events.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
