Motor Vehicle Operator

Gasoline, Diesel, or Electric Powered Wheeled Vehicles:
Incumbent operates 1-1/2 and 2 ton (trucks with snow plows), 5-ton dump truck and PTO.
Operates 17-1/2 ton Packer trash truck with PTO and 4 drive wheels, 26' box truck with lift gates and PTO.
As needed, operates Payloader with 1-1/2 yard bucket capacity, with 3 forward speeds.
Above equipment is utilized in snow and trash removal, the moving of furniture, building construction, building destruction and in road maintenance.
Heavy equipment operated only on rare occasions when regular operator is not available.
Vehicles with Special Purpose Equipment:
Incumbent operates tractors having split transmissions with 8 forward speeds (4 in each range) equipped with hydraulic controls and PTO units.
Used to operate such attachments as moveable plow blades, front-end loaders, york rake, brush choppers, rototillers, and post-hole digger.
This equipment is used in maintenance and preparation of baseball diamond, lawns and recreational areas.
Tractors are used in pulling 5 and 7 gang mowers, sprayers, portable generators, air compressor, welder, and other construction-related equipment.
These tractors are utilized in snow removal from parking lots, sidewalks, and service entrances.
Incumbent may be assigned general labor duties such as:
furniture moving, cleaning, pruning and removal of trees, lawn preparation, grading, seeding, and in road repairing and maintenance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Duty Location:
Grounds and Transportation Unit, Engineering Department, Service Line, VAMC Canandaigua, NY.
However, the selectee may be required to work at the VAMC Canandaigua or the Rochester Outpatient Clinic (ROPC) based on the needs of the service.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:
30am to 4:
Selectee must be available for overtime for emergency snow removal 80% of the time they are called.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
