Provide management and supervisory support to all the associates and functions under the Hospital Billing Department and Continuing Care Center.
Oversees and maintains control of daily billing and collection activities as well as billing follow-up procedures for all hospital patient accounts for the Regional Central Business Office.
Ensure that all billing and payments are processed per payer regulations and contracts.
Prepares and maintains quality indicators for all associates identifying goals in each payer area.
Serves as a liaison between Patient Financial Services departments (Physician Billing, Patient Access Registration/Scheduling, Emergent Registration, Finance, Reimbursement, HIM and IT) to ensure compliant billing and collection processes, HCPCS and CPT-4 codes are maintained.
Manage communications with insurance companies and 3rd party vendor IT departments.
Reviews federal and state regulations to ensure compliance for areas of responsibility and recommends updates and procedure changes to the Director of Central Business Office when required.
Assist the Director of Central Business Office in planning and problem solving, goals and objectives for the Hospital Patient Accounts Department and the PFS Continuing Care Center areas of responsibility.
Assist the Director of Central Business Office in serving as a liaison between the department and other departments regarding customer service and satisfaction.
Ensures that all health System policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility are adhered to at all times.
Recognizes and supports the Thompson Way.
Education:
Bachelors Degree and 5-7 years work related experience required (Hospital experience required).
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years recent medical billing management experience within a medical organization, hospital or billing company.
Long Term Care billing experience desirable.
Strong understanding of hospital billing and coding processes.
Strong knowledge of government billing regulations.
Familiarity with all forms payer claims by paper and electronic media is required.
Previous experience with Patient Financial billing systems and electronic programming.
Excellent public/patient relations and communication skills.
Skills in using computers including Excel and Word required.
Skills in using mainframe preferred.
Salary Range:
$70,000 - $90,000 Starting Pay:
Based on experience.
