5K a year Main Function:
Provides management and supervisory support in the following patient account areas:
Customer Service, Self-Pay Collections, Bad Debt, Claims and Remittance Processing, and Price Estimate Services.
Oversees and maintains control over all areas of responsibility and ensures adherence of system and department policies and procedures.
Reviews federal and state regulations to ensure compliance for areas of responsibility and recommends updates and procedure changes to the Director of Consolidated Business Office when required.
Prepares and maintains statistics for areas of customer service, bad debt, and community care.
Manages the oversight and maintenance of the Electronic Health Record and Clearing House Claim edits in order to enhance claim and remittance functionality.
Helps in the coordination between the department and ISD to ensure paper claims, electronic claims and remittance dictionaries are maintained.
Providers oversight for communications with 3rd party collections and bad debt vendor IT departments.
Acts as a liaison between department, Finance, Reimbursement and ISD in collection processes and reporting of community care and bad debt to meet the needs of required federal and state reports.
Assists the Director of Consolidated Business Office in planning and problem solving, goals and objectives for the Patient Accounting Department.
Assists the Director of Consolidated Business Office in serving as a liaison between the department and other departments regarding customer service and satisfaction.
Recognizes and supports the Thompson Way.
Qualifications:
Energetic individual who demonstrates supervisory and management qualities demanded for the changing healthcare and collections environment.
Previously demonstrated success in supervising daily operations and personnel responsibilities of a patient account department is desirable.
A willingness to learn and pursue excellence is necessary.
Education:
Bachelors Degree preferred or 5 years work related experience required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years recent medical billing management experience within a medical organization, hospital or billing company.
Strong understanding of collection and bad debt regulations as related to healthcare.
Excellent vendor relationship skills.
Familiarity with all insurance and patient billing.
Excellent customer service, public/patient relations and communication skills.
Skills in using computers including Excel and Word required.
Prior experience working with Epic electronic health record preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
